Can you tell us about your early beginnings? How did you first fall in love with art, and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to creativity, but I didn’t fully step into the world of art until 2020. It started as a personal exploration - something I did for myself, a way to experiment and express ideas visually. Over time, I became fascinated by the endless possibilities of mixed media, where different materials and textures could come together to tell unique stories. While it’s not a career for me, it has become an integral part of my life, allowing me to connect with emotions, concepts, and even people in ways I never expected.

Your work blends various materials and techniques seamlessly. What drew you specifically to mixed media art, and how has your style evolved over time?

The versatility of mixed media art allows me to break traditional boundaries and experiment with diverse materials, creating layered narratives within each piece. My style has evolved through continuous exploration.

Can you walk us through your creative process? How do you choose the elements and materials that best convey your artistic vision?

My creative process begins with introspection and conceptualization. I often draw inspiration from personal experiences, cultural narratives, and the natural world. Selecting materials is an intuitive process; I choose elements that resonate with the theme and emotion I aim to convey, ensuring each component adds depth and context to the artwork.

Much of your art seems to carry deep emotional and cultural narratives. What inspires the stories and themes behind your work?

The stories and themes in my work are inspired by a blend of personal experiences, cultural heritage, and societal observations. I strive to create pieces that provoke thought, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own narratives and the world around them.

Mixed media often challenges traditional artistic boundaries. How do you navigate the balance between structure and experimentation in your pieces?

Balancing structure and experimentation is a dynamic aspect of my creative process. While I establish a foundational concept for each piece, I allow flexibility for spontaneous creativity. This approach enables me to maintain coherence in the artwork while embracing the unexpected discoveries that arise during experimentation.

What advice would you give to emerging artists who are interested in exploring mixed media but don’t know where to start?

To emerging artists venturing into mixed media, I recommend embracing curiosity and fearlessness. At times it can be daunting not knowing what the outcome of using different materials might be, it’s like a Begin by experimenting with various materials and techniques to discover what resonates with you. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; each one is a learning opportunity. Seek inspiration from diverse sources, and most importantly, stay true to your unique artistic voice.
